I have read a lot about what people prefer.
AMD or Intel
Whats your take on these 2?
Which do you prefer?
Why?
Cons?
Pros?
Your opinion would be great to have.
Personally I like AMD.
I have had less conflicts with AMD. But with the new Intel stuff coming, dual processors etc. I'm not sure yet.
Processor Conflict???

I like AMD simply because they are cheaper for the equivalent performance. I also don't like the fact that Intel seems to be in bed with MicroSoft in implementing DRM.

I used AMD since I first started building computers until my current job started buying my computers. Now I use Intel. I have to say, during the era that I stopped using AMD and started using Intel, Intel was better.
At the time, AMD had a "competitive naming style" where their processors were named "AMD 1700+" and crap similar to that. So, users thought they were getting a 1.7Ghz but it was actually around 1.2Ghz. I purchased one of those 1700+ but I already knew it wasn't 1.7Ghz at the time. I did some benchmark tests on it and then again on a 1.0Ghz Intel Computer. The computers both had the same amount of ram, the Intel had a worse video card and they both had the same RPM (7200) Hard Drive. That being said, the Intel smoked the AMD.
Since then, I prefer Intel. The AMD also ran hot.
Remember the old Cyrix processors? I built a 300Mhz computer one time using that thing. It was pure crap and if you touched your finger to it while it was running you would get a burn.

Yup Intel is better! ok well Intel is 32-Bit and AMD 64-Bit but Intel is still the best and it took over the market basically!
I have an Intel but some of my friends have an AMD..they thought it was better now they just $ucked it up! lets say it Intel is more powerful and now with the new Stuff of quad core etc..AMD is CRAP for me!
