How many of you actually have a newsletter that you send out?
I received CodeCall's newsletter today and it got me thinking that this technique may actually work for return visitors. Does it? How did CodeCall do after it was sent?
How often do you guys send out newsletters and how do you get them to join? Do you have a newsletter for each software you release if you sell software? do you have one for new updates as well?

How do you send out a newsletter anyway? I'd like to offer people to sign up for mine, I think that if I filled it with funny content it would get me a lot of return visitors. But yes, how do you code a system for one?

You need a newsletter product/software. Sometimes they come with your hosting in the control panel.
I was just about to ask this same question (Except using mailing lists). I am curious if it helps any.

I use them to update people about certain products. When I release an update I send out an email to everyone stating that a new version has been released.
This brings back visitors and often more sales.

Very effective! Look around at all of the big websites, they all use newsletters! That should tell you right there that they are worth while. Start one immediatly!

I've implemented mine but no one seems to be joining!!! What do you guys do to get people to join? Do you require them to sign up when they download your products or is it opt-in only?

I would implement one if I knew how. I don't know how to do a lot of things.

Are there any newsletter templates out there that don't require too much html knowledge etc?

When talking about newsletters, we cannot forget Registerfly.com lol as their newsletter really works and brings visitors back to them as its filled with some Offers and stuff. Maybe a similar Newsletter may bring out visitors.

I think I would try this method with my Newly started Project. DTraders.info
And let members know of new products available in their interest, or at least of new Products for now later some chosen products.
