I'm targetting the phrase "humorous pictures". It gets like 185 searches a day, or 122, can't remember, but that's good enough for me. I used to be #7, then I was #10, and then I was #7 again, and now I'm #6! I think I can get to #1, if I just keep trying harder.

Thanks, but it would do a lot better if Google could index, interpret, and apply your comment to my site.

Lol and yeah I searched on google for "humorous pictures" like about 4 times and your site always came up #9 :S and then I used bravenet.com Search Engine position analyzing tool and your site showed up #11
Hmm crazy :S
but well still good luck!

I searched right now and it's #7. You're losing your sweet, savory #6 position. Better keep working.

That is a good start. It is a continous battle though. Keep getting link backs!

Yes, Google is a battle. A battle to the death. You never hear anything else other than that... what about battle to the broken arm?

The problem with Google is that it will display different results on different computers. I don’t know why it does it, but my guess is that Google is testing its placements. I have also seen a site listed in 2nd place for a particular phrase, then listed at 19th 3 minutes later for the same phrase. Anyway good luck with the optimisation!

Yeah! One time my site was ranked above others but when I asked people to check they all said it was below. That angered me...

Also, the site is now #3 for humorous pictures. Nice.

I just checked the average number of searches per day of “humorous pictures” and it is only 125. You should try not to waist your time targeting keywords with such a low amount of searches per day. I would recommend targeting phrases that have at least 500 searches per day. Although, if you are just starting out, the 150 mark is a good place to start.

I use webCEO for my search engine optimization needs and it is great! There is also a free version of it (although it has some limitations)

You can tell us some phrases that get 500 searches a day?
I'm planning to make a website but I don't know what perhaps something like that would help me! thanks!
