In addition to my other thread:
http://forum.codecal...s.html#post5284

I'd like to know if anyone has tried myspace promotion techniques. I've heard of people advertising their website on myspace and getting great results from it. Anyone tried it?

Tried, didn't work out good. But then again, the person who I paid to send out a bulletin sends out like 5 a day, so his friends are probably tired of them by now.

I didn't know you could pay people to do this for you. Are there several companies that will do this? How much did it cost?

Never tried as I don't have a myspace acount but I've only heard good things about it. I'm not sure how this could hurt you by trying!

I would also like to know how/who I can pay to get my links in peoples signature.

There are various ways to do that, and companies do signature posting all the time. It's so overpriced though, not worth paying $0.20 a signature post when you can do it for $0.04. And you don't need a MySpace account to do it.

Yes I have seen this before, but be careful as it is agaist MySpace rules and regulations (their t.o.s.) I have read about people being prosecuted for cyber crimes for SPAM.

In a sense it mainly depends on what type of website you are trying to market. I.E. if your trying to market a website for teens it will help, but if youre trying to market a website targeting adults it may not be ad effective.

You have to be kidding me, criminally prosecuted? I can't believe that.

I kid you not, I have seen the lawsuits all because of advertising and if you look on the myspace t.o.s. it says not to have SPAM in there and they consider that spam.

That is hard to believe - lawsuits over advertising? Seems like they should expect such a thing.

I don't believe it either, just because it sounds silly. Somebody in court, the prosecutor saying "This guy sent an email to all his friends promoting a website! We want to fine him $10,000!" It's stupid.
