I recently read somewhere, it was a sales pitch for this thing that helped you develop popups that beat the pop-up blockers... and it was so stupid. It's like "we all know pop-ups are the best advertisement methods, but with everybody having pop-up blockers, it's hard to deliver them." That's why people have pop-up blockers, BECAUSE THEY HATE THEM. I just needed to express myself about that.
Popups are extremely effective

Adblocker with FireFox takes it a step further. I hate downloading ads on dialup that I WILL NEVER follow. Personally, I think Google's Adsense is about the only acceptable ad system out there right now.

Good one, Icepack. There are some instances where popups are effective, like the ones that flash and say "You have one something!" I thought everybody in these days were wise to these ads, and know that they actually have not won anything. I must admit, when I was younger, I thought they were real, but about four to six months ago, my friend, a grown man, was on the computer and a pop-up like that came up. I can't imagine how he hadn't seen one before, but then he asked me if it was real. If I wasn't there, he would have clicked it, and I told him it wasn't real. HE WAS BEING SERIOUS!! There must be thousands of people like him out there, so all I can say is those ones do work.

Some of them look real. And the ones that have the sights (circle with a cross in it) that lets you move the mouse and tells you to "Shoot the ...." - they are tempting because I always want to shoot whatever is moving back and forth.

It's quite funny, the popups they have now are actually more advanced than the early video games, hilarious, isn't on? I mean come on there was this one Orbitz pop-up that was like that "Helicopter" game, where you click the mouse and it flies up, release and it drops. I played that game for like half an hour, and it was actually a pop-up! Amazing.

Yeah, a lot of popups these days don't even seem to have content on them. It seems their purpose is literally becoming to annoy.

Well the Ad-Blocker that I made with Visual Basic blocks those too! I just HATE all adverts! If I want to buy something I would go on eBay and buy it! but I wont buy anything from popups and adverts!

I think people should start paying more attention to advertisements, in order to stimulate online advertising and the economy. And... and make me more money.

Lol, sorry but I don't agree! its ok to have like 2-3 adverts on a site but then, too much is too much!
