When writing a keyword-rich article, the keyword density percentage should be between 1% and 5%. So, if you have a 4% keyword density rate, then 4 out of every 100 words should be that keyword.

Yeah, if you have too high of a keyword density, then you get harshly penalized, and if it's too low, then you don't have a chance of beating the other search results.
