All of us know about free hosting companies, and most of them can give you a subdomain or extention of their site along with hosting. Most popular is freewebs.com, and then there is also angelfire and geocities. I used to have one of these sites (I still have a freewebs), but they put ads on your site and they're restricting. Does anyone still have one of these?
When I first started my site, I considered getting a free hoster, but all of them said they were going to put ads on it and I didn't want to put ads on it unless I was going to get money from them!

Yeah, that is the problem with the free hosters. They usually put an ad in the worst spot. It is so cheap to pay for hosting now there is no point in using the free ones IMO.
If you run a business site, never use a free hosting service.

There are also free hosts that do not put ads on your site at all. The only requirement is for you to make a certain amount of posts on their forum in order to get a hosting package.

That's a pretty good deal, but I thought forums only did that and gave away domain names. I didn't know it worked for hosting too.

I wish I could've won one of those free hosting contests. I hate paying $10 a month, I'd rather not have to pay anything.

I know a host which is absolutely free I have been using it for the past 15 months. It has 1,000mb diskspace or a small text ad "Free Hosting By ------" for the 2,500mb hosting plan PM me for more info.

I don't like having ads displayed if they don't bring me money.
