Does anybody know any really cheap domain registrars? I'm using domainsite right now, as the domains are $6.99, but I've heard of places selling them for as low as $3! Does anybody know where these places are?

Is it by making a certain number of posts on a forum and getting a domain name in exchange?

GoDaddy offers specials, and has really low normal rates. You should check them out. I got my .info for .85C, but they have .coms on sale very often for $5 or less.

I would recommend you to consider a reliable and well established registrar because there are few cheap registrars who have pulled clients domain for their benefit. Register the domain with good companies so that it's easy to renew or transfer the domains.

There are many domain name registrars available in the market and I recommend you to deal with the ones that have many accreditations.
Try to search via Google for any possible options.
