Do you trust on Alexa to determine a site's performance? Do you think they are a good source for us to support of?

If possible, what is your alexa rank? (to those who have their own websites)

CodeCall (forum.codecall.net) is at 1,022,536
I'm not in the top 100,000 so it doesn't show traffic. Other sites that link to this site has no data although I know there is around 1,500 link backs.

So no, I don't trust it.

how long has your site been online? Maybe that's why you're that low, but anyway, you need good traffic to get a better ranking, but that's just with time and dedication too of course.

I do like Alexa, it gives a nice traffic trend of websites.

My site was ranked at 71 000 a while ago, but then I was offline for over 2 months and the rank went higher and I'm now at about 250 000 or so.

It has been on for a while now, around 6 months but the first 3 months I did no advertising while I was tied up in other projects. Google still gives this site no PR and sees no link-back URLs. However, if you go to MSN you will see it has CodeCall as third result for "Programming Forum". MSN also sees over 1500 link backs.

Ahh, scratch that. MSN sees CodeCall as second now.

I'm not sure what I did to anger google.

that's really good. One thing with Google that you need to be aware of. They hate people advertising their site saying things like "Oh my page rank is 6, or 7, whatever" I don't know why but it looks like Google does not like praising.

Maybe that's why u'r so low on google keywords ranking.

Hmm, this is the first time I've mentioned my PR.

It just doesn't make sense why google doesn't see my linkbacks though.

You know, other search engines see my site as having a lot of links, but right now Google sees none. That's awesome how you're second for programming forum, that is amazing.

Edit: Scratch that! You're the first result! That's so awesome!

Yes, CodeCall is the first result now! So few people search with MSN and then even fewer people search for Programming forum though. My plan was to become top for that phrase "Programming Forum" and then in a year or two be on the top ten or twenty for "Programming".

Wow, hats off on the marketing front Jordan!

How did you get 1500 backlinks so quickly? Was it mainly directories etc.?

Impressive stuff! Don't worry about google, it is hit and miss getting listed...

2-4? That's pretty broad. Just use whatismygooglepagerank.com or the Google Toolbar to see the exact number. My site is one million something too, except I think a little less.

I want my site to get in the top 500,000. I think that would make me a success, since there are over 50,000,000 sites as of now. It'll take awhile to get that high, though.
