My site has about 1,500 links pointing to it on MSN and about 1,000 according to yahoo. Google sees no backlinks though! Why is it taking google.com so long to index my page?

It has been about 5 months since the site started.
My PR is still at 0.

Any ideas what is going on? :confused:

This is very odd. Have you been black-listed for anything? Does your site appear when you search for your site by name?

for (int i;;) {

   cout << "Smith";

}

Wow that is WEIRD. I rank well on MSN great for some terms, but on Google I'm much lower, and Google shows me as having no links, but MSN shows me as having a lot. I don't understand!

What's your PR now? Google just updated PR last weekend.

Google has a bit weird algorithm, and your site doesn't rank well if it's new. More specially if links are new, then they don't really help your site. Some claim that it can take up to a year for you to finally start seeing the effect of your SEO work.

cloneBaby, A year seems like a long time for updates. Why does MSN do it so much faster? How do you know when PR updates are comming?

MSN does not discriminate links based on their ages. For example, if MSN finds a link today, it's counted today. If Google finds a link today, it does not get counted today. Big difference.

...
1. Go visit webmaster forums like WMW
2. Use tools like http://www.seochat.c...uture-pagerank/
2.2. Manually check data centers.

Oh, one of those future pagerank checker tools. Those things are usually wrong and unprediactable... but I'm still going to try it out.

No, this tool shows you PR on all data centers and allows you to see PR update in progress. So, this particular tool is not exactly predicting the future but shows you what's going on. It's a pretty useful tool actually.

That's a cool tool. How does it show you what's going on? I thought Google prevented someone being able to see that until the update officially happened.

When Google updated PR about a year ago, they just hid PR in all data centers. I'm no so sure if Google did that to hide PR update in progress. Regardless, Google has not done anything like that since then. You can see the progress as you monitor all data centers.

Google takes much longer, but also note their algorithim is much more complex than msn's. I could wite the msn spider in my spare time in about a month. If you want your site to get noticed fast, start up some link exchanges with pr2-pr3 sites, as many as you can. This will add your site to the quene until its priority is boosted and its checked earlier.

Get more links, it also depends on how strong your page is and it takes time until your whole forum is indexed
