I'm guessing it would be more of a marketing gimmick initially - you could image the PR frenzy it would whip up! However, after that perhaps governments would look into it which is a scary thought!

Wow, that is freaky. We are now just a few steps away from the computers taking over! If they can read our expressions, they will eventually discover we sometimes get angry at them, and will want to retaliate.

I don't believe computers can do anything more than what we humans can do. Computers will never be able to fight back, or any Matrix-like-stuff.
