I check my sites with the web developer firefox extension, it allows me to see how the site will look at various resolutions.
All in all though i am not too concerned with 800x600, i think people need to move with the times ;)

yeah 800x600 is very unpopular these days, the main people that use it our people that just use computers for solitaire. like my grandma!

1920x1200, what screen/monitor size do you have?
Im using a widescreen laptop and i find when i design a site i make it too wide and forget that most people dont use widescreen!

Widescreen laptop, inspiron 8500 myself... although my friend's toshiba is even wider, it's beautiful (his is perfect for letterbox movies).

1920x1200 UXVA screen (i think UXVA is the acronym) is tight.
