I read an article about a guy who makes $700 a day from like 30 websites he owns. He said the secret he had was that he set goals.

I think that goals should be set but shouldn't be set to high. If you are making $0.30 a day now you should set your goal reasonable. Say $1.00 a day and then once you reach $1.00 set to $3.00 and so on. If you make 1 sell a week aim for 3.

I set goals. I have short-term (1 year or less) and long term. The problem with my long term is that they always end up changing before I reach them.

I often set personal goals as well as business goals.

I also try to set goals, but I am too easily distracted. Usually with my sites, I hit a deadend, i.e. waiting on something or other.

However, I believe goals are the way to success, I have some time off at the moment and am trying to get as much done as I can with a couple of sites set to be launched soon!

My long-term goal is $30/day with AdSense, and I think that's realistic. I just figured out a great way to build links, and I'm optimizing keywords pretty well... but I'm still at like $0.01 a day with AdSense (I get that penny from CPM ads).

Yes, I set business goals. You should always set goals for a business before you start.

I think that is realistic. It may take a while to build the traffic and then the clicks but i have seen people earn more from adsense.

Well I just hope it won't be too long... I mean, the world as we know it could end shortly, and I want to have as much fun as I can before that time comes.

Sure do. Just started up my own business in my area and it is only a short term thing working alongside a tv station's promotion. But I plan to make a few thousand from it in the next 5 weeks. If I make more sweet.

I hope that works out. That guy who said his secret was setting goals, I think that's a BS secret. It should be like "I focused all my advertising funds into one medium, and developed a very compelling and intriguing advert." That would be a good secret.

Yeah hopefully I receive a ton of students to contact me in interest, I posted on our university's job listing that I was looking for 1000 people to apply to make videos and that 10 minutes would earn them 25$ in cash.

Investing my own capital into this and will make double what I put in basically. I don't actually plan on getting 1000 people to be interested, my goal is 200, which would be 5000$ for me, which is about 2/3 my tuition. We'll see how it goes, will let everyone know this week if I'm busy busy or just lying down dead.

Well $5,000 is a lot of money, it's basically the grand prize on the hit game show Lingo, so yeah, try to get that.

hey guys, I just started my MBA, I am in the second semester now, studying only the second subject, I have no idea about bussiness, and after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad, I figure it would be good if I can work for my self, do something that when you put your effort in you will get back the rewards. I have no idea yet what I wanted to do.

That is why I am going around disscsussion forums, as for me how I set goals is like what financial instutions do around the world, they divide the year into 4 quarters, 1 quarter is about 3 months period, so in this three months declare something big but can be attained in three months, write it donw (Declare it). Then at the end of the third months check your results, if you get your results, what is working such that you have it. And do the same for the next quarter. But if you didnt get your declared results see what is not working, and do something different the next quarter.

The easiest part is planning, but the hardest part is following through, it takes dicipline. I just learned about this from a management book, hope it beneficial to you all.

I am here to learn as well as to contribute what I know to you all.
