Anyone using Gmail Chat for their IMing?
You can send ims through your GMail account and/or download the Gmail chat client which is a pretty neat looking piece of software.
I use MSN.

Yeah, I've seen and used this new chat program. If you use it from gmail.com it kind of sucks but if you actually use the client it isn't bad.

Nuts, that sucks, but my school doesn't even allow any mail programs. I don't think there's anyone who uses gmail exclusively for chat, AIM and MSN are both better then it's chat program.

I use it over email because my friends at work can just have google open and talk over it without having a standalone client open.

That's another good thing about gmail chat, because if guys at work can't have AIM or MSN, but can still access email, at least they have gmail chat.

Of course if you are using it in AJAX form over an email it will not be as good as the chat applications such as AIM,MSN etc but I think its a good effort and a beginning of chatting through a browser However I have not tried downloading it and checking for sure. It will not have alot of users on it because others will not try it if their friends dont do it will take time to gain popularity.

Why do you use Yahoo Messenger? Hardly anybody has it. I don't like MSN that much either, it's so hard to keep track of people. I used to think it was better than AIM but it sucks. AIM is the best!
