I've only found one place that will actually allow me to accept credit cards for my software and that is regnow.com.... Are there others? Why would I not just use paypal?

Well, the reason you don't want to use paypal is because software selling services allow you to send a registration key in real time. The registration key is emailed to them the instant they buy.

Other services are:
shareit.com
and I think there was one called sw soft or something.

Thats all I know.

regnow.com also offer affiliates and has a lot of options to help you sell your software. Once your software is on regnow.com thousands of affiliates can sell your software as well.

Places to sell your software:

http://www.esellerate.net
http://www.regnow.com
http://www.shareit.com
http://www.regsoft.net

I've only tried regnow.com and regsoft.net so I can't really say anything about the rest. Regnow.com is what I use now.

I think Lop summed up why you would want to use a software seller instead of paypal.

The other thing of course with using paypal, is that the company allow buyers to issue chargebacks (which loses you money obviously).

If buyers use "unauthorised funds" paypal will claim the money, leaving you without money and the illegitimate buyer with the product.

Of course credit card leaves room for a similair incident, but it is less likely.

Yeah there can be some problems with PayPal, but usually if you communicate with customer service a lot they won't let it happen (although paypalsucks.com seems to disagree).

Can't you sell software on download.com? I know that all the software on that site isn't produced all in-house.

Paypal also charged fees if you were to make over 500$ in a month, they make you change to a business/merchant account.

I know it says "receiving rate $500", but one time I got over $800 (in one payment) and I didn't need to upgrade. Also, it says you can't withdraw more than $500, or maybe it's $200, unless you upgrade, but one time I withdrew $1000 and nothing happened. Odd.
