Anyone here do it? I've done it in the past and earned around $400-$600 a project depending on what it was and how complicated it was. I haven't done it in about 2 years though and was wondering if it has become even harder to get jobs with biding and all.

I do a bit of free lancing. Bidding has made it harder, for me, to get jobs though. It seems like everyone is doing it. I do not depend on the income though.

If I ever got good enough with a language, I would definately try to freelance. I know a lot of places to get work, but it's useless knowing where to work if you don't know how to work, ha.

Well that's what I currently do for a living. I am a web designer / programmer, i have worked in a couple of companies but I decided that working alone is the best option, that way you can work on your own and no need to fight against others for something that they don't agree with.

I have designed a couple of websites and some other programs as well. I just created a web page for a lawyer's company called ATS Group, you can check out the website right here:

http://www.atsgroup.ca

Although the site is not fully done yet since I am still working out some details they want to add to it. But the site is HTML validated as well as the CSS.

That's a very prestigious job, developing a lawyer's webpage. I've done freelance work outside the field of programming, and I've found that it is better to work alone than work in a place with a boss, because it's more constricted and there is less freedom.
