Anyone have a dual core processor? Are the benchmark tests better than a hyperthreaded processor?

As I understand it, Dual Core is actually 2 processor in one and Hyperthreading is two "virtual" processors inside of one.
That being said, I think Dual Core would preform better. At work we just received our new computers. The standard computers are Hyperthreaded Pentium 4s and the IT groups computers are dual-core. I'll let you know which one is better.

Just thinking about it, I think dual core is better than hyperthreading.
If I would relate it human effort, dual core is like 2 persons doing one thing. While hyperthreading, one very expert person doing 2 things at one time.
