My first computer was a 286 (I think 12mhz) with 2 megs of ram and a 40mb hard drive. You'd never use 40mb HD!

Yours?

IBM PS/1 286
The 2011 series is the first generation PS/1 and used a special monitor which had the computer's power supply built into it. The computer also has DOS in ROM so the computer boots quickly and can be reconfigured to boot from the hard drive as well. By default, the computer loads a 4 quadrant screen, giving the user an easy to choose menu. An interesting fact about these early models was that even the autoexec.bat and config.sys files were set up so that they would not show when booting; the first thing the customer would see is the 4-quad screen. This was to give a PS/1 owner a good overall out-of-the-box experience.
And keeping in a box now.

Wow, you still have it? How big was the HD?

My first was a 386. I don't remember much about it. I used it to play early games and never really messed around with anything else.

My father bought my first computer. If memory serves me well, it was bought in the year 1997.

If I'm not mistaken, it was Pentium R. That's what I always see everytime my computer starts.

It has 16MB of memory, which is an EDO ram. You need a pair of this memory for it to run.

Then the harddisk I think is 1.7GB, a Seagate harddisk.

Then it has a colored monitor already, but has no CD-Rom yet.

Ours was this horrendous Compaq my parents bought after months of begging. It was a P2 when everyone else had P3's. It was one of those freebe deals if you signd up with MSN for all eternity. God I hated that thing. It was so slow.

Mine was about the same. I don't recall the hard drive size but I remember it was a Tandy.
