    Gmail Terms of Service

I just read this on Google Terms of Service.

    5. Use of the Services by you

5.3 You agree not to access (or attempt to access) any of the Services by any means other than through the interface that is provided by Google, unless you have been specifically allowed to do so in a separate agreement with Google. You specifically agree not to access (or attempt to access) any of the Services through any automated means (including use of scripts or web crawlers) and shall ensure that you comply with the instructions set out in any robots.txt file present on the Services.
So how is it that email clients are able to access mail from them ?

This mean you can't create a website that allows people to login and use Gmail from a interface you created. The emails have to be accessed on their website or though POP/SMTP clients which I believe they do allow you to do.

If they allow POP/IMAP access, then you can have a website where the emails can be accessed right ? I have seen sites like this. You'll get a few if you google it.
