Firefox is by far, the most popular browser. With an Open initiative, innumerable addons and developer forums ready to help in live, it has a lot to boast about. With the Alpha release of Firefox 3.6, many new upcoming developments in the browser came into light.
To start with Firefox has improved the JavaSript rendering in Firefox 3.6. Andreas Gal, the developer of the TraceMonkey JavaScript rendering engine, which came out in Firefox 3.5 has claimed that there are new improvements in TraceMonkey, which makes the new it upto 15% faster, and this is just an alpha! So by the time the RC comes out, we will be in for a much faster Firefox.

Actually, IE seems to be the most popular, by market share.
yes, but that is actually the most used browwser because half of the world does not even know there are other browsers, half are too reluctant to install a new browser, half just make do with internet explorer at office, another half use anything which they read says "we are the best"....so yes, IE might be widely used,
but the browser which generates the maximum buzz, is firefox. And it is really the best browser given the speed, features, customization and everything. I am thinking of a switch to firefox campaign, anyone got any ideas?

What I find most annoying about firefox is that the plugins you had on your older version wont work after you update. Not unless you disable the version checking in the plugins themselves and hope that they will work regardless.
3.6 looks pretty good.
I used Firefox for years, and honestly, it was a great browser but it goes down like a rock. It startup time is about 3 seconds *less than lol*, and it freezes or gets choppy during page rendering.
Now Chrome, and even Opera 10, are faster than Firefox. Addons are the only thing worth mentioning... but except AdBlock who cares. And you can disable ads here by paying just few dollars.

But lets wait for chrome to grow up
Just downloaded the new firefox, I can't tell the difference in speed from the previous version but it's still my fav browser.
