I'm on an ADSL connection with O2 (mobile phone and broadband provider here in the UK). Problem is I'm about 7 miles from the exchange and because there's only a handful of people in my village BT aren't bothered about upgrading the line anytime soon. I'm meant to be able to get a max speed of 1.5Mb/s but it very rarely happens. I just have to plan ahead if I want to download anything big like a new distro.

Still, I can't complain too much. There are still some parts of the country that have to get by on dial-up and it really is beautiful around here.

I forgot to post my results for my work connection. I'll try to do it tomorrow but the download speed is in the region of 25-30Mb/s on a good day.

I check my broadband speed by using the ip-details.com .My speed test results are,
1277kbps when downloading,
78kbps when uploading.
