Does Safari have diff. components in iphone & PC/MAC?

I'm not even sure if the way I phrased my question is right but anyway my problem is when I view our website on my PC using Safari, the website looks okay and the CSS hack that I used worked. But when I view the website on iphone, it doesn't work anymore. It ignores the css hack and just kept on shrinking/overlapping.

Any ideas?

It seems very likely that mobile devices would show less respect for layouts. Scrolling sideways sucks.
