Intel Core i7 Blows Everything Away!!

Core i7 is set to be released later this month. The benchmarks are astounding and this particular CPU looks even more promising than Core2!

    Take a look here:

Intel seems to be jumping back to its Hyper-Threading technology; hopefully much improved from their last attempt.

Nice, but still doesn't even compare to intel's 5.7ghz, 1.81 teraflop processor.

Sure, if you plan on processing trillions of arithmetic operations, then you're correct.

I'm still waiting for the 80 core myself. I would so like to run 3DS Max on that thing. Perhaps when wireless CPUs and Memory get to market I'll be able to do that.

I am quite happy with my Intel Core 2 Quad, Vista doesn't studder too much, and Ubuntu runs like there is 1 line of code controlling the entire OS lol.

Its amazing to see how technology has advanced in the past 10 years!

I find i7 to be a huge step into the process technology, however the current max speed or a normal "Consumer" PC user will be at 6Ghz, I will find the report that Intel core dev told about, just gonna search through my collection of useful knowledge !
However i7 best choice for speed !
    Phenom II for price !

I too would like to see how that runs 3DS Max. It seems no matter how powerful your processor is, that application can slow it down lol.
