For those who don’t know what a key logger is and how they work to exploit your private let me tell you, A keylogger is a program that runs in the background, recording all the keystrokes. Once keystrokes are logged, they are hidden in the machine for later retrieval, or shipped raw to the attacker. The attacker then peruses them carefully in the hopes of either finding passwords, credit cards number or possibly other useful information that could be used to compromise the system or be used in a social engineering attack. For example, a keylogger will reveal the contents of all e-mail composed by the user. Keylogger is commonly included in rootkits.
A keylogger normally consists of two files: a DLL which does all the work and an EXE which loads the DLL and sets the hook. Therefore when you deploy the hooker on a system, two such files must be present in the same directory. If You having a powerful antivirus such as Kaspersky or Norton the possibility for your computer to be keylogger free are 95% but are You willing to take a Chane of 5% for your valuable data and credit card information, and secondly if you are using a public computer such as the old system in cyber cafes the risk rises to around 90%. Dont be afraid there are two tips so that you can browse without a fear of key loggers The first way to defend your self from key loggers is using an on screen keyboard. On-Screen Keyboard lets you type and interact with your computer using an alternative input device like a mouse, rather than the physical keyboard. On-Screen Keyboard displays a visual keyboard with all of the standard keys. You can select keys using the mouse or another pointing device, a small groups of keys, or just one key, depending on how you set up On-Screen Keyboard.
Using an on screen keyboard you are actually fooling the backgound running keylogger process. Inspite of you logging in with your password you are not actually typing it but you are using your mouse click to add your data.
You can download the portable version of the on scree keyboard and carry to any where in your pockets using a pen drive may it be Your work place or cyber cafe computer.

Are you a friend of chinmoy?
Thought I would add that Kaspersky has an on-screen virtual keyboard. Go to "online security" -> "virtual keyboard". Comes in handy.
Hey! Check out my new Toyota keyboaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Should I just open the taskmgr to check if there is keylogger?
Its not so hard to hide it on task manager. I'm studying to get the 312-50 n I have some which doesn't show up on task manager. But this one is a little more harder to trick http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb896653.aspx
How do antiviruses actually work, do they just scan files for potentially dangerous scripts or do they just have a database of all scripts which are already known to be dangerous?
Is it possible that theres completely undetectable keyloggers out there?
