I was curious as to the benefits of SSL security... I mean... Why bother? Is it not true that if given the option people would resort to keystroke recorders over cracking an encryption?
I mean... networks are fairly secure these days... is packet sniffing and interception even a reality these days? I would appreciate if anybody could lend me a few buzzwords so I could do a little research of my own as to how to secure my network traffic without resorting to SSL...
Thanks if anyone can help...
lol are you kidding of course its nesserary to use SSL or SSH anything that can improve the security of your Surfing Wireless Communication is it worth just think about all the tools out there to get information about youand everything you do
Networks are not secure (as you claim) and every time a new technology comes out someone will crack it. You should and need to use whatever security methods are available to you such as SSL.
SSL is very important. Plus CA certificate. Every time you do online shopping, you need to check their certificate to make sure it is not fake site.
encryption even if intercepted cant be cracked. rsa - 3072 cracking would take millenias.
yeah, there are few attacks agnist it, but if used good you can secure comminucation.
Besides, SSL is used to ensure secure communication between two hosts, regardless of what keyloggers and other malware have compromised either host. It's mostly to prevent eavesdropping, man-in-the-middle attacks, etc.
That and you can use it as a form of authentication.
sudo rm -rf /
I'll have to agree with the above posters on SSL. You should always have as much security as possible and not make it for any script kiddy to crack the site if they wanted too
Always try to have enough security as possible..
Just to let you know, you're not supposed to revive threads that are over a month old. I believe if you do it enough times it can actually get you kicked.
sudo rm -rf /
If that were the case, why wouldn't they be auto-locked after a month? That's not exactly sensible, especially when I thought the policy was not to start a new thread if one on that topic already exists.
Wow I changed my sig!
