Hi.
I have Borland 5.02, cbuilder6 and have downloaded the 2006 studio also. Of course Eclipse and java are on my system also, though I'm a bit behind the 8 ball there.
I have an event driven app written in java that logs xml records to a
text file to record creation of events and what objects receive,
process and possibly hand them off, possibly throwing exceptions as
part of that. So each record in the xml records:
an event creation or
the initial handler by any of a handful of objects which might handle
them or
the throwing of an exception that results in transference of
'handling' the event to another object or
the final failure to handle some event.
I'd like to come up with an application that would allow playback of
such debug visually by reading in the xml file. I was thinking of
events going back and forth between visual representations of the
various handler objects.
My goal is to speediliy allow visualization of event processing to analyze problems and even basic functionality.
I'm not sure if there are any special controls or apps I can take advantage of
to accomplish this. This is just in the early stages of thought and
analysis.
If anyone has any suggestions, or knows of applications even that
could be bent towards this I'd like to know.
thanks
Jeff
