ok, so jordan... your idea about the PHP script that shows all the PHP settings is haunting me.. Is it possible to read a PHP script from another server? Maybe me make a script and distribute it, and then call it on my server?

You know how to do phpinfo right? It is very simple:

PHP Code:
<?php
phpinfo
();
?>
Thats it. You could parse their phpinfo when they join if they allow it OR you could just let them select features that they have turned on (just list some of the more popular ones like CURL, fopen to external URL, gd, etc.).

Cake does not require any thing to be installed, but if the user has shell access they can setup the CakePHP console; as far as I am concerned, that does not require anything special from the host (other than shell access).

And, no its not php for iditos, its for advanced php users who program with objects using the model view controller design pattern relationship.
