Hey, please check out my blog. Basically I am going to put up a bunch of tutorials (basic and complex). I just started it so there is not much on there so far. Any help would be appreciated.

I would suggest you get a domain, install wordpress and forget about blogspot blogs.
Today you can find .info domains for only $0.99 (I did) and IMO it's better.
Thanks for the reply. I'll look into wordpress

Would be to my advantage to buymy own domain name, but keep using blogspot or wordpress to host? If I continued now with blogger then later wanted to go to wordpress would I be able to carry over my current content? Thanks

It's easier if you use your domain from the outset. As time goes on and more content added to blogspot the more problematic will be the conversion. The search engines will be referring to your old links and what about images. If images are used extensively (even a little) in blogspot I doubt there are any converters that also copy and transfer images to your new location. You will be stuck with referring to those images back at blogspot. Remember, those images are also hardcoded in the post entries (not possible to use relative terms in blogspot).
As others have said, hosting plans are relatively cheap these days.
As to which package/system to use, I use Drupal but the common one is Wordpress.
Just my two cents worth.
Thanks for the help guys. I went and got my own domain and I will continue to publish on Blogger. If I decide to switch later at least i'll have all my links and readers. Proud new owner of:

What you have in your blog now is pretty basic, seems to just be how to output text. I barely know how to do that, though, so I'm not one to talk. However, I suppose if you go step by step it'll turn out really well.
Very basic, but a design, give you a 3 on the scale from 1 to 5.
i dont think you can get much higher in the blogspot envirement
