    Smile Cinema Project

Well, as a school project we have to become cinema owners. Everyone else is using Excel and Access for the booking system (?) and database respectively, but I'm going for something different. The web!

Here's the layout I created - what'ya all think? Welcome to Stav Cinemas

You may use the booking system as a test, but don't use it too many times, I need to keep things simple!

Before you ask, everything is 100% valid XHTML. If you don't believe me... you know what to do!

I would write the content as well, but if I did that then my partner wouldn't be doing anything, and it is supposed to be group work.

Improvements? Comments? +Rep-inducing praise? I want this to be amazing to really impress the teacher. What does everyone think?

I booked a seat in dark knight,
1-what about an online payment ability
2-in films section, a review of the movie would be nice, and downloadable materials about the movie would be nice like wallpapers, screensavers ..Etc
3-what about giving users the ability of commenting about the movies

    1) No-one's going to use it for real, so I don't want anyone typing in their details!
    2) Yes, that will definitely be implemented - but I need my partner to do stuff as well, so he'll do that.
    3) Good idea... but it's a lot of work, with another table... I'll look into it. Thanks!

BTW, disregard the layout for now, I'm editing it!

    Re: Cinema Project

    great, i would say, but,

on the booking page, why not make a mid column with the SOLD OUT, and make the radio button for that film inactive instead? that makes more logic and a more proper adjustment of your margins, also, screen numbers should also be in another column rather than directly after the seats left...

if you want to make it really cool, make a seat selection screen and make ppl book specific seats from a seating map as well. but it might need quite a lot more work of course

but what ppl do wanna book is several tickets at once, at least up to 4 tickets at once I believe. I think this page will rule the assignment...

I think commenting on the movies would be great. It actually would be easy to add that.

Have the user be able to see all of the movies that they booked, and allow the user to purchase more than one ticket.

I won't book anymore, but it looks great. The about page needs a bit of work yes.

Yeah, it's standard on the Internet booking of most movie theaters here in Sweden actually, so yes the feature it's rather cool.

    Re: Cinema Project

Thanks for the suggestions. The seating map is far too complex for a simple cinema booking system like this, but the others can be arranged perhaps. Sorry for the awful sidebar, I will be making it look decent soon.

I dont think the seating map is complex, it can be a table with 2 images (seat taken, seat free) and the image will display corresponding to a bool value in a database

What about, being able to select which seat you want? It's not complex!
