Most shareware sites that you can add your software to are free but the big ones like download.com and tucows.com take several months if you use the free option. On these, you can pay. I think download.com is $200 for an expedited submission but they could also reject your submission even after you pay if you have any errors.
Ok, cool! I was thinking about making a business like download.com, But I was wondering if others asked for money, so if I ask I would not be the only one asking for money! ok cool, well thats just an Idea, I dont know if i will do it!
Good luck with that, there are about 15,000,000 shareware sites and if you start off right from the bat charging you will never get any submissions. Competing with download.com would be a hard market.
Yes, I have paid and yes, I have paid and been rejected. The trick is to get it right the first time! lol
Code:for (int i;;) { cout << "Smith"; }
Lol, Im not planning to make it for now! perhaps in a few years! Well thats just an idea!
Yes, I have paid plenty of times. I think it is worth it as long as you know your software will make the money back.

I think since there are plenty of free download sites..I steer clear of paying for one. I do usually go to reputable "free" download sites though!
I won't pay at all.
