Tinyurl.com?

Well I see some people linking to their website via tinyurl.com, is there a reason why? Is it because perhaps it helps SEO?

Not as far as I know. The only reason is because their URL is pretty long, and then they use TinyURL. The URL can be easier to remember, and maybe not as confusing as the original.
