Link wheel is a new way of building links. It's like submitting content to multiple networking or blogging websites and then adding a link or anchor text in the content which will point to your main website. A brief article is written and its submitted in parts to multiple networking or blogging sites. To read the complete information client have to go through all the sites one by one.

Link wheel works like this..
Imagine that there are three sites. The 1st one gives its own link to the 2nd one, the 2nd one gives its own link to the 3rd one, and the 3rd one gives its own link to the 1st one. So, we recieve a circle, or a wheel.
But as far as I know Google doesn't like such a wheel anymore and Google easily calculates the sites which have chosen to promote themselves with the help of such link wheels.

Lot of guys reported to have some good results with these links wheels initially but now they are not making any great difference.
However, i think if there is a good promotion strategy for these link wheels, then they may be handy for getting a bunch of traffic along with the backlinks.

here are some Steps to Build a Link Wheel
1. Write a squidoo lens about your topic, then link it back to your web site
2. Write an article about the topic and submit it to article directories, be sure to include a link back to your squidoo lens site
3. Create a hubpage about the topic, and link it to the article in the previous step
4. Create a Google Knol about your topic and include a link to your hubpage in the previous step
5. Make a one page blogger blog and link it to Google Knol, you can use the same blog to link back to other wheels.
6. At this point you can either close it by linking your site back to your blogger page, or leave it open. Traffic should improve in the next week or two.
