Hello all
I have been given the opportunity to work with what I would class as an authority site. It ranks number 4 for an extremely broad search term with over 20 million competition for the word, for example fitness equipment.
The ecommerce site does sell pretty much everything in its broad search term but does not really complete for any keywords of individual products, for examples bench, weights or supplements and this is something I would be tasked with looking at setting up.
In the past I have managed to get a second page ranking on the incredibly competitive term "debt management" so I do know what I am doing but I have never really approached SEO from a "general" authority site position before and this would be a first, in the past I have always build from almost nothing.
Does anyone know of any good articles, tips or things I would be wise to consider when working with the aforementioned site?
One of my first instincts was to create micro-sites and use some of the authority of the main site to pass some juice to them in an attempt to get those ranked more quickly but I would love to hear some ideas on this.
Thanks
