    Reputable Python certification?

Can anyone suggest a reputable online Python certification test? I used ExpertRating to get a certification for Perl, largely because I couldn't find another source. Actually it wasn't bad, they give you a score for your certification.

I was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for which certification to take for Python since their seems to be several choises. I've used Python for mathematical programming in Cryptography, not for web services, but I'm interested in getting certified for web programming/databases.

Hum... how can you test a computer language as a service/employee?
I dont understand what you want to certify

As for web programming and databases, Python can be very powerful, used with other tools(python.cgi,MySQLdb,...)

He/she wants to know if there is a site that will certify his/her ability in python.

Many languages have no meaningful certification, if any at all. A quick search on Google suggests there are none for python.

I've taken a few certifications. I've got a MS Office 2000 Master certificate, and it means almost nothing. I took a BrainBench cert in C and MS-DOS, and they mean almost nothing.

In the case where you are looking for a job I am sure you might need some certification? I wouldnt know I have never looked for many in person jobs before but I would assume it would look nice on your resume.

That depends on who's reading your resume. If I saw a resume that listed a bunch of BrainBench certs in programming languages, I would probably put it in the circular file. Other certs I would at least look up before assuming they mean anything. I'd rather see a project portfolio than a certification.

I've found that anything short of a degree from an accredited college is useless when applying for jobs--real experience on the other hand trumps all that though.
