    linux and serial controlled lights

    ok i want to control a set of leds through an external serial port but i cant find any good tutorials on how to do it and i cant figure out which version of python i have i have ubuntu hardy heron. iv heard that you can do some cool things with lights from a serial port. so can someone point me toward a good place to start?

    It will depend a lot on the card you are plugging in. Did it come with an API?
