First thing you need is some kind of web server on your computer. Also you should be familiar with HTML and CSS. I would suggest looking at php.net.

You don't have to have web server on your PC, it helps but you can use a free php hosting site. pm AOV he knows a few good ones. or you can do what i do and spend $10 a mounth for hosting.

Although it will help to know html and css (i know css just refuse to use it) it is not a requirement. all knowing HTML and css will do is allow you to format your site so it does not look like crap. as i said in another post somewere else withought it all your code will be left justified and all in one line.

I never said I was pro. It's just I'm not a beginner.

xav, I can create a fully functional social networking site in php with MySQL, I develope all my own systems instead of using tutorials, and a lot more and i only stoped considering my self a begginer and moved to intermediate a few days ago. knowing a language does not mean you are not still a begginer.

There are no intermediate programmers, you either no your ****, or you don't. Just because there are books and tutorials with title PHP For Intermediate Programmers doesn't mean that there really are intermediate coders, lol.

Hmm... but you might be able to do basic stuff, and not know how to do the more complex stuff.. like in my PHP case.

Yeah, so you don't really know your stuff yet. I mean you said it yourself you know how to do basic stuff, but that's it. So you really don't know the **** yet. You might not agree with me, but that's how I view coders.
