    Re: Beginning PHP

Erm, this thread is kinda old, as I've now taught myself PHP, and, finding it similar to C#, can now write complex dynamic pages. Your tut is slightly basic for me, but I'm sure lots of newbs will benefit.

    Re: Beginning PHP

Well, I'm looking to switch hosting packages to something with some MySQL databases (I think I've found one). When that's in place, I'll learn MySQL. I'm also trying to work out why that page I showed you wasn't working. I haven't had the time, but I'm going to look at it soon (I spent all my time here on CodeCall ).

You'll be happy to know that mySQL is like the easiest thing on the planet . If you have any problems with php or sql let me know. I will agree with others that a good book will help in most cases and, prrying incoming smack for zeroradius, its not even worth buying a book for. Some peaple work well with books, but just getting your hands drity and starting database stuff is fun all by itself, and thatkfull, not really that hard.

Thanks. I'll bear that in mind. Actually, I have got the impression that MySQL is really simple - it's just I've never been able to try it out, as my hosting package doesn't provide any. I' moving host, though, and then I'll get cracking.
