    Re: Beginning PHP

I'm just starting to redesign my website (Xav's Net Site). Don't bother going on it, as there's nothing decent there ATM. I'm steering away from the awful templates 1&1 provided me with, and creating my own using SSI and PHP.

However, I can't continue because no-one has replied to my question about the table cells. Could you help? I'm setting a table cell to "50px", using an external CSS style. In Firefox it's fine, but in IE it doesn't adjust the size.

Anyway, I'm a tad hampered, 'cause 1&1 don't supply any MySQL databases... sob sob...

I posted it a little while ago.

Sorry if this is a little off-topic, but it is my thread after all.

@ Martin_kp: you don't need Firefox for that. IE will do. And this thread is not in the tutorials section, but in the forum section, so it's going to be some sort of question or other.
NO Xav, My IE busted it.

    Re: Beginning PHP

If your hosting doesnt supply an MySQL then thats kindofa big deal. if you wanted to steer clear from templates and such, i know the move might be painful, but if you are ever intersted, might i reccomend Lead hoster. I know that zeroradius is prolly about to bslap me , but for a free hosting service it does a wonderful job. hope i helped.

    Re: Beginning PHP

For $10 a mounth you can get :
    600 GB - disk space
    6,000 GB - Band width (a mounth)
    Unlimited domains
free webmail (though preferable to make your own this is good in the beginning)
    unlimited subdomains
    unlim ited FTP accounts
PHPMyAdmin (for MySQL, unlimited database set up)
and much much more including free chat rooms, forums, shoping carts exc.
the price says 7.95 but it ends up as 10.00 a mounth
then it is $15 a year for a domain name
