ASP is a lot harder to use as well. While I look at PHP as a scripting language I see ASP as a language.

What do you mean it's free? Aren't all programming languages free? Oh yeah, I think ColdFusion costs money. That's stupid, having to pay for a programming language, but I forget if it actually does cost money.

PHP is 100% free. You can download the library and program in it free. Most servers support it, either windows or linux.
