Simple Blog System - Tutorial - Upcoming

Hi,

Just wanted to announce that I'll be writing a tutorial on how to create a simple blog system in PHP. This tutorial won't use OOP yet which will be used in a more advanced tutorial which I'll write after this one. So to start with I'll be writing a tutorial for a simple blog system based on php functions which doesn't make it too complicated for creating your first blog system.

The tutorial will probbably be split up in several parts as otherwise it'd be way too long and unordered/unclear to follow. So far I've written the first part of the tutorial and I'll be writing all parts of it this week and post them atleast on my blog and I might as well post them here on the forums.

Just wanted to announce that, and the functions of the simple blog system that will be created within the tutorial are:

• Connecting to Host & DB
• Adding posts
• Deleting posts
• Adding replies
• Deleting replies
• Creating categories
• Retrieving & Displaying Posts
• Add user
• Edit user profile
• Display user profile
• Search

Btw, if you want to keep track of this tutorial's progress, you could have a look at my web blog ( see my signature link ) and check the 'upcoming' section of the menu sidebar. And if parts are already posted there you can just read them or search for them . When I've got new updates about the progress of the tutorial parts I'll post it here as well as soon as possible
