How To Make The Sun In PhotShop.

Hello every one this is my first PhotoShop tutorial in which I'm going to show you how to make the sun.

OK make a new picture of whatever size you want.(I used 500 x 500)

Go to Filter>Render>LightingAffects.
Change the settings to look some what like this.



Make sure you set the light type to omni.

Now go to Filter>Render>LensFlare.
Change the settings to this and position it on top of the sun.



Now if all go's well you should come up with a picture that looks like this.



And that's it, very easy and cool(I think) to make, hope you like it. (don't forget to leave your comments) Cya.

Interesting. Could you explain more about what Omni and Lens flare do, since I suck at graphics?

Sure, There are three light type(at least in my version of photsshop)

Omni shines light in all directions from directly above the image--like a light bulb over a piece of paper.

Directional shines light from far away so that the light angle doesn't change--like the sun.

Spotlight casts an elliptical beam of light. The line in the preview window defines the light direction and angle, and the handles define the edges of the ellipse.

The lens flare makes circles like you would see if you look at the sun through a camera lens.

Gotcha, Ya I have PS 6.0 it's pretty old but usable BTW you should get GIMP if you don't already have it, it has a lot of cool filters and stuff in it.

I've got GIMP, but haven't gotten very far in using it. I can make math and code sing, but traditional arts I fumble with.
