Help me with this project

I created an MP3 player in delphi and have it on an old gateway E3200.
I want to mount this in my trunk, run a keypad for control, and have an LCD display.

I need resources on how to create a CDplayer-like display.

I can get an LCD, I just need to know how to access through serial port or the like. Any help would be great.

You could do this fairly easy with a small version of Linux. I believe their console supports this. Did you make the MP3 player in Windows?

yes it was made in windows.. as I am not familiar with GUI programming in linux.
