Freeze delphi

Hi,

Is it possible to freeze delphi? Like say you have a line of code from line 1-200, and it runs it in like a split second, I want it to freeze at line maybe 40 for 10 seconds before continuing. I can't seem to do it. I tried using the timer component, but the timer doesn't actually freeze delphi, it only runs alongside it.
