In TOOLS menu there is a way to direct Delphi 6 to return to that last program that I worked on at shutdown. For the life of me I can't find the spot to click. Any tip(s)?

Try the open icon dropdown. I use Delphi 5, but I suspect it's similar.

Wonder if we are talking about the same thing. I cannot find "open icon dropdown" anywhere.
Let me state my case again: at the end of the day I close out Delphi 6 by clicking the red X in the upper right corner of the Delphi compiler page. The next time I startup Delphi 6 I want the program to display/return to the last program I was working on.
My computer failed and now, after re-install of Delphi 6, I don't recall how I had the program set on the failed computer.
Tks Vern
Try Tools: Options and look through the tabs.

Thank you, I have it now. In case someone else has a need for it, in Delphi 6 try this:
Tools/Environment Options/Preferences/AutoSave options: check 'Project desktop'.
