    Microsoft Puts C#, CLI Under No-Lawsuit Umbrella

    Microsoft stated Tuesday that it will not pursue legal action against open source software developers using C# and CLI programming languages.

    Interesting move. Now if Microsoft would help the Mono project directly, it might make .NET truly cross-platform and attractive. Then Microsoft would be able to compete for the best development tools, instead of on the basis of vendor lock-in.

    It seems like many Linux users would hate any MS assistance or intrusion into the OS. I'm all for MS helping the Mono project.

    Isnt that what the article is talks about, allowing others to use the open source specifications without charge?
