Yes, I would love to learn on an IRC channel for programmers.
Yes, I would love to help other programmers on an IRC channel.
No, I would not use an IRC Channel.
I had a good idea to start the IRC channel back up. Not just for a lounge to talk about your day (yes it could still be used for that) but to also have a set time each day (or more) that one member would volunteer each day to help guide members that are requiring help. Examples may be somebody needing help with source code specifically, any particular subjects of help, and even lectures on the IRC channel.
This will show other users how well we work together to strengthen even our weakest links to be better as a programming community.
If enough people agree to either visit the IRC channel and or help with the lectures then Jordan has agreed to re-add the IRC channel back to the website.

I voted yes, I don't have an IRC client installed right now but I've used it before and I like it![]()
Its possible to have a Java client on the website that can log you into an IRC channel if members dont wish to download one.
I vote yes. I don't know how much time, if any, I can dedicate to being online to help people. However, I will be online as often as possible using BitchX and intend on having a bot that logs all conversation and posts these logs to ASCIIBin so everyone can read.
It's been a long time since I heard anyone mention BitchX.
Still the best, IMO.

I'd prefer to answer programming related questions on the forum, but I would not mind chatting with community members.
BitchX! I'd be down for IRC, when I can get on that is -.-
I wouldn't mind joining a CC IRC. I usually have Xchat open anyways.
