Ambitious web 2.0 project, keywords: artists, community, portfolio

    Good evening internet!

    I have a dream...
a dream where all artist live together in the perfect equilibrium.
An equilibrium that breathes Web 2.0

    What is this post about?
To make a long post short: I'm looking for volunteers, namely 2-3 coders and 1-2 designers that
wish to aid me with my ambitious project. No, you won't be paid - yet.

    What is the project about?
It will be a Web 2.0 platform where artists of all categories can communicate,
but a little less chaotic than Deviantart.

Users can manage their own portfolio, chit-chat on the forums, comment other profiles, ...
But now the great difference with other alike websites: there won't be drawings of your 7-year old daughter
    - or so to speak.
We will start with only displaying portfolios of webdesigners and - based on the growing speed - we
    will recruit more teammembers.
Then will expand to other mediums like designers, filmers, ... - you catch my drift.

If you are still reading this I'd like to thank you for the effort, because: a) English is not my mothertongue
and b) you can experience this post as idealistic bullsh*t.

But, I'm looking for more idealistic bull**** artists who can help me create the website, program
every tiny bit code, design it, ... give birth to it.

    Needed
2-3 Programmers: able to work in team and work with PhP/MySQL/...
1-2 Designers: able to breath Adobe products: you master Photoshop, After Effect, ...

    Contacting me
my email-adress is lowette [at] gmail [dot] com,
but you are also free to throw me a pm or reply in this topic

    Again,
    thanks for reading,
    Thizke

Since this is not a community project I am moving it to the correct forum.

Forgive me for putting it bluntly but your saying the designers & developers will get nothing for their hard work?
    [/quote]

The action plan is as following: find a mature and highly-talented team, these can get the following for their hard labour:
    a) satisfaction from their work, and the portal they are being part off
    b) being part of an 'exclusive' - I am careful when using these words - freelance team at a later stage of the community and earning good money when being granted with particular projects.
    The only volunteer part is the first stage: setting up the community and writing an article each week once the website is final;
after that the designers and programmers can claim professional projects, help on free base with side projects (not paid).

Also, I am setting up some merchandising which deals in 'geeky' stuff so we have some kind of income without using advertisements.

    Hehe, allow me to explain:
The first incomes go to the servers (first the incomes are from merchandising and maybe sponsoring, depending on the deal I can pull off)(the second incomes come from the commercial site which will be launched some months after the community site).
I will take 3% of the money earned from the freelance jobs that I assigned (from the commercial website) and put them into servers or side projects, 97% from it goes to the designer/coder/other .

Hope this solves your questions, if not, feel free to e-mail me (-:

    Greetings,
    Thizke
