Hireing Programmers

Hello,

I need to hire some programmers and really have no idea where to start. I was hoping some of you guys could point me in the right direction.

1. It would be a rather large project.
2. Programmers must be experienced with network programming (the type of programming that would involve remote access type stuff. - is there a specific name for this?)
3. Creative innovative thinkers.
4. Confidential.

I don't know if I should look for a firm or individual programmers. I need some sort of legal assurance that whatever I show them is confidential so they can't steal any ideas.
