This is also sometimes called Adware but I don't see it as adware if all you do is display a link or banner on your software. Adware to me does something malicious like collect personal information or have intrusive pop-ups at random time. Does anyone agree or disagree?

So, speaking in those terms, what is a good company that will let me just put a banner ad or text-link ad in my software and pay me per click? I want to offer my software for free.

If it does that it's Spyware, but you do have a good idea, giving software for free but making money from clicks.

No, I wouldn't claim that to be adware/spyware. Many companies do this and it is a good way to release free products and still make a little money off of them.

Actually, I am working on making all of my software "Free" with text links at the bottom. This will update from a site only if the user is connected to the internet. It is a good way to earn a little extra money but you have to make your program popular first.

Well, if it collects personal information, it's not adware, it's spyware. Or possibly an an adware/spyware super program.

The Google Adsense program is good, but I am not sure if your talking about a website so I would try the clicksor program.

Well you can just make a browser in your application and make a the browser to go to a specific site with that banner so you dont need actually a company that will let you make their ad on your site! could be a site too! just integrate it in your software instead of your website so that could be even Google Adsense!
