Default Favorite way of FREE promotion
What is your favorite way of free promotion to your website? I've tried link exchanges and get very little click throughs. I'm on google but can't rank high enough because of low link-backs.

So, that being said, what isy our favorite FREE promotion technique?

Screaming from the rooftops? That would probably work out well, actually, create a lot of publicity, but it would be embarassing to do.

I agree somehwat on a type of link exchange (topsites). Most of all I use programs for submiting my information to search engines.

It's funny, I'm getting 20% of my traffic through one website which I did a link exchange with. That's kind of pathetic for my site...

Link baiting is essentially free promotion, people are promoting your site for you.

How do you get more links to your sites though? Do you actually go around emailing other webmasters or what? I don't understand what I can do to get more links other than join the link-farms which I read wasn't a good idea.

Emailing other webmasters, posting topics asking about link exchanges, buying links from people, link baiting (although you can't control that), and directory submissions.
